My son with its temples from the time when My Son was the capital of the Champa kingdom.

My Son is a temple complex in the Quang Nam province in Vietnam, 69km southwest of Da Nang. During Champa era it was an imperial city.

The complex was constructed from the 300s until the 1100s. The sanctuary is a large complex of religious buildings with more than 70 architectural works. It includes a number of temples and towers connected to each other through a complex design of red brick. Monuments have been victims of robbery and during the Vietnam War the monuments were used by the FNL as a base and several were destroyed by American bombings.

The main component of the design is the tower, built to reflect the different gods divine residence (specially the god Shiva). Architecture similar to that in other Hindu temple sites such as Angkor Wat in Cambodia.
